Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter (FPS) game that was developed by EA DICE, and published by Electronic Arts. It is set in World War 1, or “The World to End All Wars.” The campaign part of the game is broken into segments of the personal relations of the protagonists in the story called “War Stories”. I enjoy this aspect of the game because it doesn’t just talk about the battles of the war, but it also talks about the people and what they are going through during this time. Battlefield 1 was launched to the public on October 21, 2016.

Battlefield 1 also has a very realistic form of gameplay. In most FPS games, the player may just be shooting at the enemy, and that is the game. In Battlefield 1, it gives a strong point of realism in the fact of the battlefield and the player itself. For example, let’s say the player gets killed in action in the campaign, instead of just respawning and trying the mission again, the player goes to the point of view to a different soldier on the field. I really like this aspect because rbattlefield-1espawning isn’t realistic and it gives the player a special type of gameplay.

After you have completed the campaign, you might want more. Well, Battlefield 1 also comes with multiplayer, so you can play online with different players around the world. The multiplayer gives options to  different maps to play on. They are vast with different engagement scenarios, and you can even drive around them with different vehicles and tanks. Now, the multiplayer is very different from the campaign. One of the big differences is that you have the choice of playing between four different classes with special weapons for each one. The Assault class is a class that allows the player to feel like an infantryman on the front line of battle. They are equipped with sub-machineguns and shotguns and have access to anti-tank weapons like RPGs and C4. The Medic class gives players medical syringes to heal fallen or injured teammates. They are given semi-automatic and fully automatic rifles. The Support class does exactly what the name entitles-supports players. They have access to light machine guns, mortars, ammo boxes for teammates, and is the best class for driving vehicles around the map. It comes with the most anti-vehicle weapons. Finally, the Scout class. The Scout class is a class for the non-aggressive player. They are equipped with sniper rifles and are prompted to take the high ground and take out enemies from afar. Some snipers come with bipods to stabilize the player’s shot. They also come with trip mines, or claymores.

The most important part of the multiplayer in Battlefield 1 is the gamemode. Battlefield is all about playing objectives, like capturing a flag in a zone, or just trying to eliminate the entire team first. There are six gamemodes available. Conquest is a gamemode where you have to capture flags in different zones. First to 1,000 points wins. The more flags you hold, the more points you get and if you get kills when you have the majority of the flags, you get more points. Rush is a fast-paced gamemode where you have tickets. If someone on your team dies, you lose a ticket. Defenders must protect telegraph posts from attackers. War Pigeons is like capture the flag, but with pigeons. After battlefieldyou capture a pigeon, you write a message on it. It then flies away which then delivers the authorization of a massive artillery strike. If you capture three pigeons and release them, you win. Team Deathmatch is basic. You have to kill the enemy team, until you get a certain number of kills. Domination is a smaller scale version of Conquest. Operations is a combination of Conquest and Rush.

Battlefield 1 is a very fast-paced, action-packed game that is a must buy. I rate it 9.7/10 because there are very few flaws with the game. If you want to learn more or purchase the game, you can click the links below.
